Le present volume, issu de la phase initiale du programme " France-Allemagne au XXe siecle - La production de savoir sur l'Autre " de la Maison des Sciences de l'Homme Lorraine, est centre sur des questions historiques, methodologiques et epistemologiques. Son premier chapitre situe historiquement les disciplines qui s'interessent a l'Autre et fait ressortir les connexions nationales et internationales entre celles-ci. Le deuxieme chapitre, relatif aux conditions de la production du savoir sur l'Autre, met en lumiere les specificites propres au milieu universitaire puis attire l'attention sur les particularites propres au fonctionnement des reseaux et au role des mediateurs. Le troisieme chapitre, dedie aux problemes methodologiques relatifs a la production du savoir sur l'Autre, met l'accent mis sur les questions theoriques liees aux perceptions et a la comparaison, sur le role de la litterature comme vecteur de la connaissance et enfin sur les risques inherents au franchissement de la frontiere entre savoir et ideologie.
Der vorliegende erste, geschichtlichen, methodischen und erkenntnistheoretischen Problemen gewidmete Teilband des Forschungsprojektes "Deutschland und Frankreich im 20. Jahrhundert - Akademische Wissensproduktion uber das andere Land" erschliesst das Untersuchungsfeld aus drei Perspektiven: Vor dem Hintergrund der deutsch-franzoesischen Beziehungen und der universitaren und gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen in beiden Landern im 20. Jahrhundert werden im ersten Kapitel die fachdisziplinaren Geschichten von franzoesischer Germanistik und deutscher (Franko-)Romanistik in ihren Grundzugen dargestellt. Das zweite Kapitel leuchtet die funktionalen und soziologischen Rahmenbedingungen der Wissensproduzenten und deren meinungsbildenden und -pragenden universitaren, oeffentlichen und politischen Einfluss aus. Im dritten Kapitel werden methodische Problemfelder thematisiert, denen die Produktion des Wissens uber den Anderen und die wissenschaftliche Analyse unterliegen.
