Was ist neu am Gotteslob nach der Revision 2013?

- Die Auswahl an Gebeten und Gesängen ist größer als bei seinem Vorgänger. Das zeigt sich an der vermehrten Aufnahme Neuer geistlicher Lieder und ökumenischer Lieder. Es enthält weiterhin eine Vielzahl der alten und neuen traditionellen Kirchenlieder
- Der Anteil an Liedern in mehrstimmigem Satz und an mehrsprachigen Liedern wurde erhöht. So sind nun beispielsweise Taizé-Gesänge vermehrt vertreten.
- Das Erscheinungsbild wurde verändert: Rote Farbelemente im Druckbild sorgen für mehr Übersichtlichkeit. Drei farbige Bildtafeln mit Werken der bildenden Kunst helfen das Buch in seine Großteile optisch zu gliedern.
- Das neue Gotteslob gibt Anregung für das Glaubensleben im Privaten und in der Familie. Es enthält zum Beispiel Vorlagen für Familienandachten oder Impulse für die private oder gemeinschaftliche Bibellektüre. Wie im alten Gotteslob findet man auch wieder die wichtigsten Texte und Abläufe zur Liturgie der Messfeier, Wort-Gottes-Feiern u. a.
- Aufgrund der Erklärungen zu vielen Glaubensinhalten lässt sich das neue Gotteslob auch als kleines Lexikon verwenden.

Auch das neue Gotteslob enthält neben dem Stammteil wieder den Eigenteil der Diözese mit dem regional gewachsenen Liedgut.
